An enjoyable and testing links course overlooking St Ives Bay & Hayle Estuary. The oldest course in Cornwall, West Cornwall Golf Club is the home of 'Long' Jim Barnes, winner the inaugural US PGA in 1916. He won it again in 1918, the US Open in 1921 and the Open in 1925 at Prestwick.
The course itself meanders around St Uny Church in the first few holes before heading down for views over Hayle Estuary. The back 9 then provides views over St Ives Bay and with the branch line from St Erth to St Ives running alongside the course.
The clubhouse provides excellent bar and catering facilities and can be used whether you decide to play golf or not.
There is a practice area for longer shots together with a chipping practice area and a practice putting green. A well stocked pro shop is also on site and does provide hire facilities.
