Wetheriggs Animal Rescue is a small family run animal rescue charity and visitor attraction based at Thorpe Farm Centre near Barnard Castle in County Durham. We are open every day from 10am. Visitors can pay the small admission fee to see, feed and interact with most of the animals in our care including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hens, pheasants, pygmy goats, miniature donkeys, alpacas, shetland ponies and many more.

We are a charity which depends on your support to be able to operate. Full details about the centre and how you can support us can be found on our website. We also have membership options available so people can enjoy unlimited visits to the centre throughout the year.

Many of our staff are actually volunteers giving up their own time to help care for our animals. We are always looking for keen and hard working people to help out at Wetheriggs.
