Cumbria Crystal is the last producer of completely hand-blown and hand-cut, full lead, luxury English crystal in the United Kingdom. Using only traditional methods our team of 22 highly skilled artisans is committed to creating crystal using techniques that have barely changed since the Roman era. Cumbria Crystal strives to produce the highest quality products so it is hardly surprising it is the crystal of choice for the British Embassies, many Royal Families, and Luxury Stores worldwide. It has been showcased extensively in Downton Abbey, James Bond and many period dramas as it epitomises luxury living.

Aside from giving visitors items to shop for at the Factory Outlet, Cumbria Crystal also offers self-guided factory tours where guests can watch the entire glass making process. Those taking the tour can have a look around one of the last working lead crystal factories in the country and can watch the artisans as they practice traditional glassmaking methods.
The factory is open all year round except on Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year. The visit is completely free as well as the parking.
Guests can come anytime between 9:00 am-12:30 pm and 1:00-4:30 pm and 1:00-3:00 pm on Fridays. Since work stops promptly during closing time, visitors are advised to come early so they can observe the whole glass making process.

We offer diamond glass cutting and creative sandblasting workshops on weekends throughout the summer and until the end of the year.
Our two excellent tutors are Heather (glass cutting) and Reuben (sandblasting).
Heather is one of UK’s finest glass cutters and engravers. She won the Master of Crafts Award (2012), worked with Calvin Klein home, Liberty London, Selfridges, Nokia, and her work is exhibited at Vessel Gallery.
Reuben completed a three-year apprenticeship with Cumbria Crystal’s master engraver before establishing his own business delivering high-quality engraving solutions. He is highly creative, enthusiastic and is skilled in the art of creative sandblasting.
