Constructed in the 1920's, Compton Acres boasts over 3000 species of plants, including many rare specimens from around the world. Built to reflect the original owner's worldly travels, the gardens flow in a circular pattern of five distinct gardens laid out like jewels in a necklace. These gardens include The Italian Garden, The Wooded Valley, The Rock and Water Garden, Heather Garden and Japanese Garden.
