Here at Back of Beyond we like the simple things in life, eating pancakes on Moffat Beach, storm watching from the dunes in Peniche, barefoot running through the woods, the blue flash of a Kingfisher on the River Medway or sharing good times around a fire in Cornwall.

Amongst us there are everyday adventurers and explorers who love to just jump into rivers or choose to travel a bit closer to home to find those ‘wild’ places. We also have some amazing people who help to strengthen our friendships with organisations such as: Run To Become; Born to Move and; Surfers Against Sewage amongst others.

Our aim is to create adventures…. micro-adventures if you will, to help slow things down for a little while. It is this aim that helped us to choose what we do, and importantly, where we do it!

Kayaking

Kayak trips on the River Thames are a firm favourite with friends of Back of Beyond Adventures this summer!
These kayak trips offer a fun and sociable paddle with up to 8 people in our lovely touring kayaks.
The adventure begins at River Lane in Petersham, where you will be greeted by our wonderful instructors who will guide you through a briefing before taking to the magnificent River Thames for a paddle on a delightful circular kayak trip.
If you make good progress, we will have time to stop for refreshments at a wonderfully charming riverside pub!

Canoeing

Eel Pie Island Canoe Trip -
This 2 ½ hour canoe trip is a firm favourite with friends of Back of Beyond Adventures.
These canoe trips offer a fun and sociable paddle in shared open canoes. The adventure begins at River Lane in Petersham, where you will be greeted by our wonderful instructors who will guide you through a briefing before taking to the magnificent River Thames for a paddle on a delightful circular canoe trip. Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) -

Stand Up Paddleboarding lessons in London are quite simply a wonderful way to take to the water.
Running throughout the year on request, these Stand Up Paddleboard lessons in London offer a fun and sociable paddle in small groups.
The adventure begins at River Lane in Petersham, where you will be greeted by our wonderful instructors who will guide you through a briefing before taking to the magnificent River Thames to explore this beautiful stretch of river.

What sets a canoeing expedition apart is that it purifies you more rapidly and inescapably than any other travel. Travel a thousand miles by train and you are a brute; pedal five hundred on a bicycle & you remain basically a bourgeois; paddle a hundred in a canoe and you are already a child of nature.
