New Ashgate Gallery cultivates the pursuit of excellence in a marketplace environment, with support to emerging artists, by exhibiting work and through professional development. We promote the creative process for all communities through workshops, talks and outreach work. We provide an unparalleled resource in Farnham, Surrey and beyond.
Established in 1959, the Ashgate Gallery began as an artists’ co-operative. Since the mid 1970s, it has been a not-for-profit trust. In 2016, the trust celebrates the 50th anniversary in our 17th century Grade II listed gallery.
New Ashgate Gallery curates a programme of 20-30 annual exhibitions and related events, often working in partnership with local and national art organisations. In addition to our lead exhibitions in the Pavilion Gallery, affordable Craft Collection, Maker in Focus and projects in the Balcony Gallery are well worth the visit. While we also show work by established artists, supporting emerging talent in the market place is close to our heart.
