SeaXplorer Fast Boat Wildlife Tours

SeaXplorer runs fast boat wildlife adventures in 2 ten metre
Rib boats. We operate from Glencoe and from The Scottish Sealife Sanctuary OBAN.

We are one of only a few Visit Scotslnd 5 star rated tours in Scotland and we are accredited by the MCA for operations as well as being WISE affiliated. As a member of Wild Scotland we adhere to a strict code of conduct and we are also fully Carbon Neutral and have Silver Green Tourism status.

All our skippers are fully qualified and very knowledgable, experienced and if w say so ourselves very entertaining! Just look at our Tripadvisor reviews!

So where do our tours go?

From our Glencoe base we run 1 and 2 hour tours. Our 1 hour tour explores the islands in loch Leven getting close to the clan burial island Eilean Munde and telling tales of massacres and history. We pull up a creel to look at creatures from the deep and visit the seals on their island too. A stop at the fish farm and a whiz out under the Ballachulish Bridge before returning. Lots of variety, interest and suitable for all ages.

Our 2 hour Wild Islands trip goes out under the Ballachulish Bridge and journeys about 10 miles out across Loch Linnhe to a remote coastline where we find Seals, Porpoise, very occasionally Dolphins, Otters, Deer, Wild Goats, Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles (we have 2 nesting pairs not far from us out of only 35 pairs in Scotland so we do see them quite frequently!) There is a wealth of seabirds too. There are lots of historical sites and then we return to Loch Leven and pick up on the elements of the one hour trip but we never forget our creels and you get to see and handle the catch and learn about life beneath the waves!

From The Scottish Sealife Sanctuary near OBAN we run half hour (really about 40 mins) and 1 hour (really about 1 hour 15 mins) trips scheduled throughout the day.

Half hour hop around the loch visits seals on their island and pulls up a creel and visits the fish farm too. A fantastic short trip with lots packed in for all ages and a great family activity.

The 1 hour Seals, Castles and Creels trip leaves Loch Creran (which is an MPA , a marine protected area) and venture out into Loch Linnhe and round to Port Appin and the world famous Castle Stalker. A spectacular journey for all with amazing scenery lots of wildlife and tales of history too.

We supply all life jackets, waterproofs if required (hats and gloves too if needed!). You will also get spotters cards and binoculars as well.

Group discounts are available and we also have special family rates for all our trips.

You can book online or by phone. Weather is always a factor but it is very seldom that we can not go out and we always see something but can't guarantee to see all the wildlife! They have days off sometimes too!

Have a look at the SeaXplorer website and The Scottish Sealife Sanctuary website or just give us a call and we can give you advice on what is best or even put a special trip together for
