Professional and experienced Guiding, Instruction and Coaching in all aspects of British Mountaineering and Climbing, based in Fort William. We pride ourselves on our friendly guiding, where safety always comes first.

We are based right next to Ben Nevis, and Glen Nevis, but we are only a short distance from Glencoe as well. We offer Private Guiding as well as courses. We run throughout the year - the mountains are magnificent in summer as well as winter.

Private Guiding
Winter or Summer - The most popular choice and a bespoke service for you. What do you want to do, and where do you want to go? This is the solution if you want to 'tick' specific climbs, summits or scrambles or work on particular objectives and skills. What could Private Guiding do for you? Do you want to become more independent as a mountaineer, or develop your skills to lead climbs? Or do you want to complete a particular climb/scramble/walk, for example - Tower Ridge, Aonach Eagach, or summit Ben Nevis? Get in touch and we can discuss how to make your plan happen.

About Hunter Mountaineering
Hunter Mountaineering is run by myself, Max Hunter. I hold the Mountaineering Instructor Certificate (the 'MIC' - the highest professional certification for Mountaineering in Great Britain), and am a member of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and the Mountain Training Association (MTA). I am also a qualified and experienced school teacher (PGCE, QTS,UPS3).
