Situated in the picturesque village of Newtonmore, Cairngorms National Park, a detached house set in its own grounds with plenty of off road parking, surrounded by mature trees opposite tennis courts, bowling green and a short walk from the golf course. Superb scenery, unique history and a multitude of attractions or activities. Newtonmore is an excellent central base for touring the Highlands. For the active there is just about every sporting activity available in the area. For walks, you can start with the Wildcat Trail which is a 10km orbital walk around the village which is way marked by wildcat signs and follows rivers and touches Glens behind Newtonmore. In the area there are many more walks of all sorts of levels with forest tracks for mountain biking or walking, mountaineering and climbing. If skiing or boarding is a passion there are 2 ski areas, Cairngorm and Nevis Range close by, plus canoeing, sailing, trout and salmon fishing on the surrounding rivers and lochs. Horse riding, pony trekking, shooting and 4x4 driving are also options. Golfers can play a different local course every day of the week, beginning with the 18 hole course in the village.

Newtonmore has the Highland Folk Museum which was a film location for Outlander Season One and is the heart of "Monarch of the Glen country" since much of the popular BBC drama was filmed in the village and surrounding area. There are a host of visitor attractions, the Highland Folk Museum and the Clan Macpherson Museum both in the village. Nearby there are the Highland Wildlife Park and forest adventure parks, many museums, highland estates, malt whisky distilleries, steam and funicular railway and even sheepdog demonstrations. You could also visit Ruthven Barracks, the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd, or Osprey Centres. Newtonmore is in easy reach of many castles, historic sites and day trips can be planned using reference books and maps available in the B&B.
