Chur Burger was born from a simple vision….. Warren Turnbull’s love for burgers. Originally nestled in a back alley of the food loving haven of Surry Hills, Chur Burger offers a great burger at a great price. Using the tastiest of ingredients, keeping it simple, cooking each burger to order and serving milkshakes and boutique soft drinks, Chur Burger quickly turned into a small frenzy. The locals loved it and it wasn’t long for Sydney’s food writers and Bloggers to locate the somewhat hidden burger joint. After only open for 6 weeks Chur was very excited to be named as best burger in the Good Food section in the Cheap Eats Edition Sydney Morning Herald March 2013
A not so Chur fire destroyed Chur and the previous Restaurant Assiette site weeks later, devastated by the fire, Warren, after giving little thought decided to turn the whole restaurant into Chur Burger.
Chur re opened in July 2013 after being closed for 4 months for the rebuild. has created a very cool, laid back environment in which to chow down on your burger too, whilst listening to beats ranging anywhere from soul, funk, reggae to hip hop and anything in between.
Chur now offers 6 burgers, sides, milkshakes, and a range of snacks to get started. Chur is fully licenced and has some great Aussie and Kiwi offerings to wash down your burger with. Wines are all by the glass and with a great range of beer and ciders it’s no wonder this little burger bar in Surry Hills has taken off.
