Set in a beautiful historic Drill Hall, The Drill Hall Studio is THE place in Townsville to go for local original art, handmade gifts, unique jewellery, fashion & accessories and home wares. Our beautiful art works and hand crafted gifts are all made by local artisans and are carefully selected for quality. It is a lovely place to browse for a special memento of your trip, or for gifts for family and friends.
Whether you are looking for a painting, sculpture, art glass, pottery, timber work, textile art, scarves, funky, up-cycled designer clothing, original jewellery, locally written and illustration children's' books, or just some postcards or greeting cards made by local artists, you will find something to suit at a price you can afford.

We are just near the Strand, you can relax in our shady sculpture garden and enjoy the sea breeze, chat with our friendly resident artists, watch them create their artwork, and browse the gallery and gallery store for that special something.

We also have a range of exciting 'ART ATTACK' art and craft classes for adults and children of all ages. Parents can drop the kids off for an after-school class, then pop down to the beach with the little ones, go for a jog, enjoy a quiet coffee, or even get the groceries - all within 100 metres of the gallery. Parking is easy and free - the perfect creative destination.
