Barossa Daimler Tours

Barossa Daimler Tours provide tailored, private wine tours of the Barossa Valley in a classic and rare 1962 Daimler which can seat up to eight passengers when required. All tours are conducted by respected Barossa local, John Baldwin, a very personable fellow with extensive wine knowledge and a great sense of humour, and who knows The Barossa intimately and loves to share his close relationships with The Barossa winemaking fraternity, with all who tour with him.

Barossa Valley wine tours are designed to suit individual wine tastes with cellar door tastings tailored to include famous and iconic wineries such as Penfolds, Seppeltsfield and Yalumba, or the smaller family owned boutique gems that only a local would know of. Barossa icons such as Henschke, Torbreck and Charles Meltons can also be included, whatever makes for the best day.

A Barossa Full Day Daimler tour includes a sumptuous 2 course lunch at Vintners Restaurant, afternoon tea at Maggie Beers Farm Shop, plus all entrance fees and tailored wine tastings. Guests also enjoy detailed and passionate commentary on the history, culture, architecture, terroir and the art of wine making in this world famous region. Meet the winemakers and local characters, indulge in cheese and local produce tastings, and be treated as a VIP at all wineries. Tours are exclusive to one party ensuring flexibility is at a premium.

With only 6 of these rare 1962 Daimlers brought to Australia for the royal tours of the sixties, this is a rare opportunity to tour in such a classic and historic vehicle.

For guests staying in The Barossa, the tour starts with collection at your accommodation at 10am, and you’ll be dropped back at 5pm. Adelaide guests are picked up at 9am (in a modern Mercedes Viano) and travel via the beautiful Adelaide Hills and Chain of Ponds to be met by the Daimler on arrival in The Barossa. The Adelaide drop off is at 5.30pm.

Tours are also offered to The Barossa and other South Australian wine regions (in a modern 7 seat Mercedes Viano) including the McLaren Vale, the Clare Valley and the Adelaide Hills. An overnight package, staying in The Barossa, and Adelaide pickup and returns are also available.
No two tours are the same….except for the ‘Barossa Daimlers Ultimate Tour’ which includes three of the best experiences available in The Barossa, including one offering which is not available anywhere else in the world. The ‘Centenary Tour’ at Sepeltsfield Winery allows guests to taste the 100 year old Tawny Port and gives guests the rare experience of drawing from the barrel of their birth year. There is also the experience of being in the winemaking laboratory where Penfolds Grange is made, wearing a lab coat and mixing a blend of wine which is labelled and able to be taken home to keep.

Life memories are made when tour The Barossa in a classic 1962 Daimler, with John Baldwin.
