Forest Secrets is an easy nature walk with a difference – a unique and unforgettable sensory trail with fascinating taste, touch, smell, see and hear experiences! Just 60 minutes drive from Hobart.

Here you won’t just ‘look’ at Tasmania’s nature, you’ll also: discover Tasmanian native food, medicine and ‘hardware’ plants whilst strolling along a stunning riverside trail; taste forest products from your own ‘tucker box’ as you go; spot a wild platypus on the beautiful Tyenna River; browse a range of Tasmanian forest products in the shop and gallery; includes free tasting of honey and other forest flavoured products !

You can bring a picnic and take advantage of our rustic picnic tables, and/or buy a forest flavoured ice-cream and a cold drink to enjoy in a spectacular bush setting. Kids win yummy prizes with the Forest Secrets kids' quiz.

Allow at least an hour to stroll the trail (less than one kilometer), look for the platypus and browse the shop - longer if you’re picnicking. Open 6 days per week,10 am to 4:30 pm. (Closed on Saturdays) Tour groups welcome.
