Hobart Walking Tours provides 2 hour walking tours which are the perfect way to discover Hobart's hidden secrets, fascinating history and architectural beauty. Hear stories about murderers, entrepreneurs, fallen women, convicts, adventurers, villains and heroes.

You have lots of choices! We have regularly scheduled tours, but if the schedule doesn't suit your travel plans we are happy to organise a tour at any other time on request for two or more guests.

The Hobart History, People & Places Tour: Extensive walking tour including historic Hunter St, Hobart waterfront, significant city locations & Salamanca Place. Wonderful stories about the hard working convicts, explorers, entrepreneurs, villains and heroes of this convict-built city.

Alcohol History of Hobart walking tour - a great alternative giving you a good dose of history and a delicious range of tastings. We walk from Hobart’s waterfront along to Salamanca Place including key historic buildings. The focus is on the history of Hobart’s colonial days and the fascinating role alcohol consumption played. Includes premium Tasmanian wine, whisky, vodka and cider tastings.

Hobart's Café Culture walking tour - this is a great way to explore Hobart and you will be lead away from the usual sites of Salamanca and into the heart of the CBD. Come along and discover the wonderful variety of hidden cafés tucked into laneways, hidden in courtyards and perched at tiny kerbside venues. We will show you a great side of Hobart's café scene, from the stylish to the eclectic. You will be delighted with the people we encounter, the baristas and food devotees who love their city as much as their food. Think of this as a progressive morning tea. With intimate group size of just 8 guests, this is a more personal walking tour, where we cover Hobart's contemporary café culture and and delight you with delicious creations that keep Hobartians fed and energised through their working day.

Hobart's Dark Past - If you are after something a little on the dark side, then come along on the Hobart's Dark Past evening tour. Grim & grisly, dripping with dark humour! Stories of invasion, executions, smugglers, criminals, convicts and bush-rangers, all told in the locations where many of Hobart’s grim events happened. Dark tales told after dark, but please leave the kiddies at home!

Historic Battery Point: Soak up the elegance, beauty and history of this quiet and exclusive area full of grand Georgian homes and the beautifully restored cottages of Arthur Circus. Full of entertaining tales about government corruption, carousing vicars and shipping tycoons made rich on the opium trade.

Cruise Ship Shore Excursion city walking tour - small group walking tours especially for our cruise ship visitors. When your cruise ship docks in Hobart you have to come for a walk with us! Stretch your legs and discover the city’s iconic landmarks and fascinating history on a two-hour walking tour that departs from the cruise ship meeting point at Macquarie Wharf 2. In addition to seeing classic sights such as the famous IXL Jams buildings and Constitution Dock which is famous as the end point of the renowned Sydney to Hobart yacht race - you will also experience the iconic colonial beauty of Salamanca Place. Your tour will follow the indigenous history of the area as well as the earliest days of British settlement. We shall walk our way a few blocks into town, tracing the evolution of Hobart from a dangerous and carousing colonial outpost to the beautiful, conservative, elegant city it is today. Discover the inner workings of Hobart from the past to the present. Exploring Hobart is easy and entertaining with your expert local guide there to give you a comprehensive introduction to the city.

If you have something else in mind - then let us know! We have a wealth of information and are constantly researching and updating our stories and we would be delighted to put together a special interest tour just for you.

We have regularly scheduled tours, and all of our tours are available at any other time on request for two or more guests.
