For over 100 years the much-loved Boathouse has played a role in the social life of Nelson citizens. Friendships have formed, young people have learned about boats and many a couple has met and later married here! It is a legacy that continues to this day as a Cafe, Bar, Function Venue and Gig Venue.
Our weekday cafe boasts the best location in Nelson. Taking lunch orders from 11am to 2pm every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Friday evenings from 5pm. Offering simple and fresh food, beautifully cooked and lovingly served. The view from the deck is spectacular.
The Boathouse Society has supported live music since the Saturday night dances of the 1940's and continues today with live entertainment on Friday evening. Gigs usually start at 8pm and are updated regularly on our Facebook page.
The Boathouse is a popular venue for weddings, celebrations, parties, meetings, conference dinners and product launches with capacity for up to 190 people. We have a full On-Licence & a commercial kitchen. Contact us to find out more about hiring The Boathouse!
