El Viejo Mexico or Old Mexico is a romantic Mexican restaurant with authentic atmosphere, candles and cozy atmosphere.

Børsen, the local newspaper, equivalent to Wallstreet Journal, has announced us as the best Mexican restaurant in town and we have received more awards from the local newspapers around in town.

The food and the ingredients are chosen with care. We use the best ingredients, high quality, ranging from meat to vegetables, it provides a Danish breath and wreaking on the plate so it delights the eyes.

The wines are put together in collaboration with sommelier Martin Sørensen from Inco Denmark ,. A unique wine card from famous European and overseas houses, adapted to our dishes.

The restaurant is decorated with Mexican sculptures and hand-painted masks and paintings. The paintings on the walls symbolizing gods from various cultures and civilizations in Mexico. Eg. Water Goddess, the God of Fire, of fertility goddess and goddess majskornets are just a few examples of the gods associated Olmek, Maya and Aztec culture, which is among the oldest civilizations in the world.

Our logo, Aztec calendar is the calendar system that was used by the Aztecs and other pre-Columbian peoples of central Mexico. The calendar consisted of a 365-day calendar cycle called xiuhpohualli (year count) and a 260-day ritual cycle called tonalpohualli (accrued days). The xiuhpohualli considered to be the agricultural calendar, since it is based on the sun, and tonalpohualli considered to be the sacred calendar.

Extraordinarily, you can take your own wine to the restaurant against a prop money from kr. 60.00 all days of the year, as long as the number of party does not exceed more than 6 people.
