Sail with the historical boats of Amsterdam Tourist Ferry to the former defence line around Amsterdam (part of UNESCO’s world heritage list), and visit Amsterdam Castle Muiderslot. This is the best kept medieval castle in the Netherlands. The castle is part of the former Defence Line of Amsterdam, a circular defence, built to defend Amsterdam against attacks from the entrance of the former Zuiderzee. During your castle visit you can enjoy the free guided tour, fun activities for kids, and have a rest in the gardens or restaurant.
On board
The traditional boats are equiped with a bar and toilets. There is both an inside and an outside area. The skippers will be happy to share their stories about the history of Amsterdam, related to saling and trading. Travel information
The boats leave from Amsterdam Tourist Ferry's jetty in Amsterdam's newest district IJburg, which can be easily reached by tram 26 from the Central Station, hop off at Lumièrestraat. Boats leave at 11 am sharp, Tuesday till Sunday. A return trip takes just over four hours. Reservations can be made on our website and are recommended.
