Palaia Winery and Vineyard is the Hudson Valley's "Hippie" Winery - we make all our wines in the basement of a Historic 200 year old barn on land once owned by Aaron Burr. The tasting room and shop is in the second level of this "bank barn" and has handicap access and parking. There are also two rooms off the tasting room, the "treehouse" which is an enclosed deck overlooking the vineyards and mountains, and the "Sweet Clover Room" which is used for live music in the winter and private parties. There is a picnic area with tables where live music is played in the summer on Sunday afternoons with hammocks for lazing around.
We have 5 major festivals and a few extra ones put on by local charities that we host as well such as the May Day festival. Ours include a Celtic Fest in June with the AOH of Orange County, A Beatles Fest charity event for Woodbury PBA in July, A Woodstock Festival of course in August, our Hudson Valley Grape Jam for Maria Fareri Children's Hospital on Labor Day Saturday and Sunday - music all day both days. And, our Harvest Festival with terrific Bluegrass, Americanna and Country music all day. We donate a percentage of the proceeds from our "Pinkish Floyd" Rose' wine and a concert from a Pink Floyd tribute band in October to the Young Survisors Coalition for Breast Cancer each year.
Our winery is all about feeling the vibe, grooving to the live music, and enjoying life. We serve NYS craft beer and spirits as well and have a small kitchen that serves brunch, lunch and dinner on the weekends with food that goes well with our wines and beers.
All festivals have vendors on the grounds as well as live music, so you can shop while you drink among some of the finest local craft goods from vendors all over the Hudson Valley.
We have a large tent outside next to our 40 foot covered stage for outside summer events. Bring a chair or blanket and come enjoy the day and into the night here at Palaia - great customer service is our rule, and all our staff are friendly and happy to help you. Wine should be enjoyed, and never a stuffy experience.
