The Lighthouse is a close team led by Jon Hardy, assisted by family and friends since opening in December 2010. We feel our persistent hard work and ambition is what makes our small Restaurant into a big interest amongst food lovers. The last five years of hard work has laid the foundations for our great Restaurant, and it is a consensus within our team that in the coming years, with constant learning and ambition, the sky is the limit.
We are a young and fresh group who are focused on delivering the highest standard to our diners. Our Front of house management team are dedicated to making your dining experience a time to remember. Our team of young Waiters and Waitresses have been hand picked based on their enthusiasm, good food knowledge and hard work; ultimately we feel the overall commitment of our staff allows for a friendly and relaxed experience whilst being of the highest quality and efficiency.
Our kitchen team of Chefs led by proprietor Jon Hardy and Chef George Bloor would describe their cuisine as seasonal modern British, utilizing the fantastic local produce Derbyshire has to offer, combined with rigorous modern cooking techniques, and a strong focus on seasonal ingredients, they have been able to create a flavoursome, well- balanced and exciting menu. our Head Chef Jon has also won Derbyshire's Chef of the year award, being called 'skilful, imaginative, committed and a true master of his craft. He's been described as one of the area's most talented- and entrepreneurial- chefs. Not only is he a chef, he's also the owner of a very successful restaurant.' A highlight feature our restaurant has to offer is our Tasting Menu, which is a credit to our Chef's hard work and ambition.
