Appledore Sails - Sailing the Estuary, Bristol Channel and beyond.

Whether you have sailed before or not, come and enjoy a sail at sea on ‘Patron’, a 31 foot ocean yacht for 4 hours, all day, a weekend or longer, or a child friendly estuary sail or sightsee on ‘Jez-y-Belle’ a traditional Appledore lug sail boat for 2, 3, or 4 hours. Both provide a delightful way to enjoy seeing this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and UNESCO Biosphere.

We also provide a unique experience just for your party. You have the whole boat to yourselves (with skipper). No experience is necessary; you can still join in with sailing at no additional cost for training. We start and finish at Appledore Quay and link with tide times and we are fully licenced with all safety equipment.

Prices are based per boat plus skipper, for your group, not per person, starting from £100 for Jez-y-Belle; £175 for Patron. Up to 4-5 people per boat.

If you prefer just to motor for a tour around, that is also fine. The boat is yours for the duration so we can fit the trip to your needs

Appledore Sails:

- caters to those who wish for a gentle sail as well as those who wish to experience the strong tidal conditions found in the Bristol Channel.

- caters for those who have never been on a sailing boat before and who would like the adventure of sailing the first time, either in the estuary or out to sea.

- caters for those wishing to go out for a few hours, the day, for a few days or longer.

- hopes to provide you with a unique adventure. We do not crowd as many people onto the boat as possible. You have the whole boat to yourselves – up to four adults or five people if at least two are young children in Jez-y-belle, five adults in Patron.

- hopes its guests will want to join in with sailing of the boat, within their abilities. Even first timers can take the tiller and pull a few ropes – even young children can help sail and steer Jez-y-belle!
