A very warm welcome to Hampshire Wine School - an independent wine education company, not affiliated to any wine merchants or retailers. We run Wine, Champagne, Beer, Port, Gin & Tonic and Whisky Tastings, as well as Cocktail-Making Workshops and Wine & Food Pairing Courses in HAMPSHIRE (with venues in Southampton, Winchester and Fleet) and NOW in DORSET (in Poole) for people who enjoy wine and would like to learn more about it. We also run private parties, hen/stag dos, corporate events, team bonding experiences and staff training.

The Hampshire Wine School's Proprietor and main Tutor, Cécile Bergart, trained the staff at The Dorchester and Claridge’s and ran tastings for their clients. She is now a published Champagne and Wine Educator (lately in the Hampshire Cookbook for the Prince’s Trust), a guest champagne expert for Champagne World Magazine and for Channel 4 'SuperScrimpers', a regular guest speaker on BBC Radio Solent, as well as being an approved staff educator for Marks & Spencer, for which she organises all in-store wine tastings in their Hedge End and Chichester outlets. She is also a Ruinart Champagne Ambassador in the UK.

Our aim is to make you a better shopper: to arm you with a little bit of knowledge, confidence and enthusiasm, which should help to take some of the guesswork out of buying wine.

During our wine tastings, you will learn about grape varieties, wine-producing countries, star producers, tips on how to taste wine and how to pair wine and food, in a relaxed and fun way. Become a better shopper, and you're well on your way to becoming the wine-savvy version of you.

What's reassuring about us is that we do not sell wine or beer - and are not affiliated to any wine merchants: which means we can source our wine wherever we please, from a wide selection of local merchants and national supermarket chains, to offer you impartial recommendations and advice. Our courses are for your enjoyment only.

All our wine appreciation courses and wine tasting evenings focus on enjoying wine and learning about it in a relaxed setting, with friendly, like-minded people. Our sessions suit all levels of knowledge and experience, starting with our Saturday Wine Courses, a great way of immersing yourself in the subject through a leisurely tasting of 11 delicious wines (priced at £85; 2-course lunch and a glass of Champagne included!). Our 1-Evening Wine Tastings provide the opportunity to choose a favourite theme (from only £27.50!). Its also a great way to meet people who share your passion for wine - do try one - we are sure you will enjoy it!
