The Aqua

Annette and James have run The Aqua with pride for more than 36 years and have built a fine reputation for quality of service, superb food and a friendliness that has created a lasting bond with many guests from around the world. It is our hope that you will enjoy an Isle of Wight break here in Shanklin at The Aqua and in turn find that it is just the place for you - time and time again.

Our Balcony Rooms overlook the Beach and Seafront and have the most amazing views of the beautiful Bay, from the distant Cliffs of Redcliffe, Culver and Bembridge Down all the way across to Horseshoe Ledge and Luccombe Cliffs in the South.

We have a dedicated team available all day to answer any queries you may have about reservations or ferry bookings. Whilst we always offer a Bed & Breakfast accommodation package, we can also include Car Ferry bookings on any of the routes at preferential rates, and for those who wish to dine in the evening our staff can discuss a Dinner reservation in our own restaurant The Brasserie.

The Aqua has a wealth of facilities for our guests to enjoy. Situated on the seafront so close to the beach, it is only a short stroll across the Esplanade to the soft sand and clean waters of Shanklin beach.

The Bar Lounge is a modern and comfortable meeting place where a wide choice of drinks can be purchased including Cask Ales, Keg Beers, Wines, Spirits and Soft drinks. There is also a traditional Dart Board and an American Pool Table for guests and visitors to use and in the evenings whenever entertainment is offered the place comes alive with laughter and dancing.

In keeping with our aim to promote, support and maintain customer satisfaction we have installed a comprehensive hotel Wifi system that enables our guests to establish a free internet connection throughout The Aqua for use with tablets, i-pads and i-phones by simply using a password which can be obtained from Reception.

Location, Location, Location is the universal mantra for our position on the popular seafront of Shanklin, directly opposite the beach. It's the place to be with commanding views of Sandown Bay, from Luccombe Cliffs and Horseshoe Bay all the way across to Culver Cliffs at Sandown. Many locals and visitors enjoy a cream tea or lunch and a drink in the comfort of our decks and patios fronting The Aqua.

A short journey up to the town is made easier by using the Cliff Lift to get from the seafront up to the cliff top followed by a gentle 5 - 10 minute walk. Shanklin Olde Village with its famed thatched pub, which is just 5 minutes from the Town Centre, is also an easy stroll from the Cliff Top through the quaint Tower Gardens.

Enjoy a steady amble along the promenade can make their leisurely walk a little more energetic by continuing all the way along the flat revetment path just above the beach along to Sandown, or using a little more energy there is the cliff top walk.
