Welcome to The Clarendon Royal Hotel, the finest place to stay in Kent.
Located directly on the river Thames in the heart of the historic market town of Gravesend, this stunning building was built in 1665 by the Duke of York. Operating as a hotel since 1842 we've had many important visitors, including the Duke of Wales in 1863, when he greeted Princes Alexandra and her family to the UK shores before marrying her.
A fantastic escape it remains. We offer comfort and a warm, friendly atmosphere that accommodates everyone from those looking for a quiet getaway, to those wishing for a sociable stay. Expect to meet new friends amongst the friendly and service driven hosts as well as fellow guests.
Our accommodation is set across 23 fabulous individually styled bedrooms consisting of; one executive double bedroom suite, two double bedroom suites, five 1 bedroom suites, 2 executive doubles and thirteen double rooms. Many rooms with beautiful views of the river Thames views.
Our restaurant is popular with both patrons of the hotel and visitors. Using only fresh ingredients our chefs create inventive, seasonal menu's, centred around classic and modern British cuisine.
