Museum of London Docklands

Discover the story of London as the world's greatest trading city in this Grade One listed converted Georgian warehouse overlooking the quayside.

Our galleries bring London's Docklands to life with hands-on activities and interactive displays. You can learn about the history of our museum building and discover how London's historic docks and warehouses operated at the height of their success in our gallery No.1 Warehouse.

Learn about how the transatlantic slave trade shaped London through objects, video suitable for all ages and children's information panels in our gallery London, Sugar & Slavery. This is the only permanent gallery examining the capital’s involvement in the transatlantic slave trade.

The museum also has an immersive, reconstructed Victorian street called Sailortown. You can venture into the mysterious alleyways of 19th century Wapping and experience the sounds and smells of the docks of the past.

We also have a gallery designed just for families, our Mudlarks Children's gallery. With a soft play area, water interactive, moving models and hands-on activities, this gallery will keep children entertained for hours whilst learning about the docks.
