Meet rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules nose-to-nose at Redwings Aylsham – from real-life Black Beauty Maya to a whole troop of miniature Shetlands known as the Gangsters! The centre is part of the UK’s largest horse sanctuary, Redwings Horse Sanctuary, where animal lovers can get up close and cuddly with more than 50 adorable residents and hear their stories – and, best of all, it’s completely FREE!

After making plenty of new four-legged friends, you can also enjoy a relaxing stroll around the centre’s peaceful wildlife walks – perfect for keen ramblers and dog walkers. Hot drinks and tasty snacks are available from the Nosebag Café, there’s a play area for young children to explore and a wide range of souvenirs to browse in the on-site gift shop, with all proceeds supporting the hundreds of donkeys, mules, ponies and horses in Redwings care.

Having met some of the centre’s rescued residents, you might like to sponsor one of the charity’s lovable Adoption Stars, either for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one. A year’s adoption costs just £12.50!

The visitor centre is open all-year round every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Entry and parking are free, and dogs on leads are welcome.
