Nestled at the foot of the South Downs these award-winning gardens just 6 miles north of Chichester feature a Walled Kitchen Garden and orchard, 13 working Victorian glasshouses housing orchids, fuchsias, figs, vines, melons and chillies, a 100m-long Edwardian Pergola, naturalistic Spring Garden with flint bridges and surrealist fibreglass trees. The circular 2½ mile arboretum walk set in 50 acres of beautiful parkland offers spectacular panoramic views.

The Gardens’ gift shop and VisitEngland endorsed restaurant overlook the beautiful Lavant valley and West Dean park with the River Lavant running alongside. Enjoy freshly prepared food and refreshments in the restaurant, breakfasts also available from 9am at weekends and on Bank Holidays. Seasonal gifts and plants available in the shop. Group discounts available (pre-booking required).

Close: Feb/Nov/Dec 4pm & March-October 5pm.
