The Castle of Monterinaldi, situated in the commune of Radda in Chianti, between Panzano and Radda in Chianti, in the center of the historic zone of Classical Chianti, is near an ancient Etruscan track. This historic site is mentioned in a document (written in December 1010), which refers to “the Count Gottifredo Gottizio, of Longobard stock and a gentleman of Monterinaldi.”

Monterinaldi’s carapace is composed of eighteen single Vineyards, 38 terroirs, fiftyfive hectares, as self contained as a turtle: Sangiovese of different clones, Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Gamay, Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet-Franc, Malvasia Bianca, Trebbiano, Chardonnay. Density is 5000 vines per hectare. And an Antebellum nursery. You’ll be at ease in our shell and the voice of the turtle will be heard in your land.

EDUCATIONAL VINEYARDS
A part of our vineyards has been set aside exclusively for vines training class. You will learn about the soil composition, irrigation, defoliation, pruning, and much more. A real hands on “class in agronomy” directly in the field, which depending on the time of season (April to early October), will give you an experience just not possible during usual wine tastings.
