The Apartment
The accommodation we offer consists of a charming small apartment with independent access in a beautiful traditional Tuscan farmhouse, with a pleasant living room / kitchen (with double sofa bed) and a beautiful and spacious double bedroom with lovely views of the Tuscan countryside, an ample and comfortable canopy bed and ensuite bathroom. The apartment is fully furnished in genuine, traditional Tuscan country style. The room rate includes breakfast with our own fresh farm products, free wi-fi and parking.
The Fattoria Le Pietre Vive di Montaperti is a true, working tuscan farm immersed in the peace and tranquillity of the Tuscan countryside yet close to the main road systems and only 8 kilometres from the historic centre of the town of Siena. Guests will enjoy a friendly welcome, the farm house apartment is suitable for families and children,who can play outside in complete safety and anyone who wants to spend a peaceful and relaxed holiday in the lovely countryside of the hills around Siena.
The Restaurant
On the ground floor in the beautifully renovated stables in our typical farm house restaurant you can enjoy the best of traditional Tuscan cuisine right here on site. Open every evening except Monday from 7:30 pm.
Cooking Classes
Or if you prefer you can learn genuine Tuscan home cooking for yourself and discover the secrets of traditional dishes prepared with the finest local produce, freshly laid eggs from our own chickens, home-grown vegetables and herbs from our kitchen garden. Come and cook with your very own Italian grandmother! Nonna Ciana will welcome you into in our big farmhouse kitchen in the main part of the house and teach you all the secrets of authentic Italan recipes from hand-rolled pasta to delicious desserts and show you how to enjoy the very best of Tuscany’s regional flavours.
Truffle Hunts
If you prefer the great outdoors you might like to come truffle hunting in the woods above the farm and try the experience of " digging " a truffle out of the soil for the first time under the guidance of an expert truffle hunter and his dogs! Come and explore the mysterious world of truffles, enjoy the mystique and the magic of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Take to the woods with an expert hunter and his highly trained truffle dogs and share in the surge of excitement as they guide you to locate and “dig” this rare and delicious, intoxicating and aromatic edible treasure.This is must do for foodies, foraging enthusiasts or those who love the field-to-plate experience and for anyone who just loves the Tuscan countryside.

Location
We have all the advantages of the peace and beauty of the Tuscan countryside at just a short drive away from the historic centre of Siena with all its attractions: restaurants and bars, fascinating medieval and Renaissance squares and streets, monuments, museums and wonderful events such as the famous Palio of Siena.The area itself is the site of a historic medieval battle in which the "Republic of Siena” defeated the Florentines and their allies in 1260, an event still celebrated today with re-enactments in costume and torch-lit processions.

Despite its atmosphere of rustic tranquillity the farm in actually very close to main roads linking us all major Tuscan cities and offering easy access to all popular Italian destinations.
As well all the attractions of Siena itself you can easily visit other famous art cities like Florence, Arezzo, Perugia or even follow the footsteps of St Francis in the ancient town of Assisi or still more easily explore any of the delightful medieval Tuscan hill towns nearby. You can even relax at one of the Thermal spa resorts only 15 km. or so away. For wine buffs we are situated right between the Chianti area and the famous wine growing regions around Montepulciano and Montalcino where you can go taste the famous Brunello. Siena itself has good public transport and is easy to reach by train or coach as well as by car but to get the most out of the trip and explore the countryside and little hill towns and villages round about it is a good idea to hire a car ( there is a car hire service only a few km from the farm).
The restaurant and the cooking class and truffle hunting activities are also available for non-resident guests and may be booked separately.
