Ours is a family owned business has an overall history that dates back to 1898. Starting as a small business that simply sold meats, cheeses, and wine, L'Osteria di Giovanni has built on that wealth of know-how and labour to become a top Florentine restaurant.
Our cellar, in our building dating from the 1500s, holds many thousands of bottles of prestigious and simple Tuscan wines. We proudly butcher our own meat including the famous Bistecca alla Fiorentina. The unique layout of the restaurant, in five very distinct areas, including the amazing underground cellar, welcomes locals, Florentines, national and international travelers.
The walls are filled with art work that were donated to the restaurant by many local artists.
We can cater for gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian diets with creativity.
