A campsite plus an attraction all set in 90 acres of manicured parkland on the southern slopes of Dartmoor with the River Dart running through. Included in your pitch price is access to the extensive adventure playgrounds or for those looking for a quieter moment there are woodland trails and riverside walks. For a bit more adrenaline, Dare Devil activities offer high ropes, water zorbs and a zip wire (extra cost). Site offers the usual facilities - toilet block etc - as well as a restaurant and WiFi. A short drive from away is Ashburton, a market town of small antique and bric-a-brac shops.
River Dart Country Park is set in 90 acres of manicured parkland on the southern slopes of Dartmoor. The River Dart runs through the site and provides an ideal base to spend your holiday.
With over 25 activities included in the pitch price children can have a whale of a time. The award-winning adventure playgrounds include an assault course, pump track and bike adventure trail, low ropes course, mini zip wire, pirate ship and dessert island, tyre swings, wooden play fort, toddlers' playground and toddlers' beach.
For the adventurous members of the group there are bookable Adventure Days available through CRS Adventures. Activities include High Beams, Pamper Pole, Caving and Climbing, all led by qualified and experienced instructors.
Park facilities include well-equipped amenity blocks with free hot water and family bathrooms. There are hardstanding pitches available if required (please request when booking) with electric hook-ups, covered washing up areas and laundry rooms. There's also an on-site shop, licensed cafe bar and tennis courts (own rackets required).
A short drive from the site is Ashburton, a market town of small antique and bric-a-brac shops. Our favourite is the second hand bookshop next to the car park alongside the council offices. Be patient when you drive through the town. It was, after all, built for the horse and cart.
Taking the A38 east towards Exeter will bring you to Drumbridges roundabout and the out of town Trago Mills. This is an enormously popular discount store, as the size and number of the car parks surrounding it give testament to. Here you can buy anything from fishing rods to fire places at prices significantly lower than you might find elsewhere.
