Bourton House Garden

An award-winning three acre garden surrounding a fine 18th century Manor House and Grade I listed 16th century Tithe Barn. The garden features luxuriant terraces and wide herbaceous borders with stunning plant, texture and colour combinations. Imaginative topiary includes a knot garden, parterre and topiary walk and there are several spring-fed water features including a raised basket pond from the Great Exhibition of 1851. You will also find a unique Shade House, a serene White Garden and many creatively planted pots. A raised 18th century walk provides an enticing link to the Cotswold landscape beyond. An abundance of unusual, rare and exotic plants make this garden a delight for the the dedicated plantsman. Head Gardener Jacky Rae, assisted by Gareth Griffiths and Tom Benfield.
The garden is open Tuesday to Friday from April to end of October (excluding Easter and Bank Holidays) from 10am to 5pm. Groups are welcome Monday to Friday but advance booking is essential. Concessions are available for group bookings.
Light refreshments and home-made teas are available from May to end September in our 16th century Tithe Barn, where you will also find occasional exhibitions or special events. We regret no catering is available for groups on Mondays. The Tithe Barn also houses a small gift shop offering unusual and interesting gifts, cards and vintage collectables.
Please visit our website for up-to-date information, details of any special events or charity openings.
