The Secret Forest is an ancient woodland that has grown up over the earliest iron workings from the Iron Age. Amazing exposed tree root systems grow over the rocks from yew trees over 800 years old. There is a recreated Iron Age village and tearoom.
The Secret Forest appeals to all ages and is open weekends and all school holidays. At other times by appointment. We hold events throughout the year, including the Fairy Fortnight where the forest is decked out for children to enjoy a magical experience, see photos below. We also permit private group use depending on availability.
