A vibrant and welcoming community centre in the heart of Halton (3 miles from Lancaster), The Centre @ Halton has something for everyone and is owned and managed by the Halton Community Association (HCA) which is a registered charity We have a very wide range of classes, activities and events mostly organised by enthusiastic community volunteers. We also have a hall (with a connected high quality catering standard kitchen) and meeting rooms for hire.

Following a major building programme in 2011, our range of outdoor facilities has considerably increased – to include a state-of-the-art skate park which is floodlit till 9.30pm, an excellent ball park (MUGA), 2 popular purpose built children’s play areas, a boules pitch and a football field. All of these can be accessed free of charge, except if the football field and MUGA are used for organised activity when there is a modest booking charge

Indoors, at The Centre, we have an excellent main hall with high quality lighting and sound, and a mobile stage. The hall can be used for regular classes or booked for specific events, like birthdays, dances etc. Throughout the year there is a very active programme of classes in the hall such as American Square Dancing, Zumba, Drumming, Enjoy-a-Ball, Valley Church Indoor Bowling. and a daily busy pre-school and after school club. The hall is also used for a wide range of events, such as nearly new sales, shows and pantomimes, family fun nights and ceilidhs.

Our upstairs meeting rooms, which have recently benefited from the fitting of an audio hearing loop, provide a suitable environment for small groups such as our over 55s Luncheon Club, Memory Cafe, pilates, dance classes, singing group, exercise class for over 55s and a drama group. The Coffee Shop is also a suitable venue for group meetings such as our gardening group and knit & natter sessions.

The hire charges for the hall and for the Centre's two meeting rooms as well as the Ball Park are very reasonable - and details are available on request and are also published on The Centre's website. Amongst the regular users of our Ball Park (MUGA) are outdoor circuits, walking netball and 5-a-side football.

Also indoors we have a very friendly and popular Coffee Shop which is open throughout the year. Access is excellent with ramps and a lift. In term time the Coffee Shop is open from 2pm to 5pm on weekdays and from 10am to 5pm at weekends and in school holidays it is open from 10am to 5pm every day, and as late as 6pm on Saturdays. We serve a wide range of snacks, cakes, drinks and ice creams which suit the needs of all age groups - and these can now also be enjoyed on our new outside decking area overlooking our play areas.

We welcome anyone to our Coffee Shop, including walkers, ramblers and cyclists and are a registered venue with Cycling UK (formerly CTC). There is also a Halton orienteering route which begins at our Centre and maps can be purchased from the Coffee Shop.

The activities and events we provide are not just for the local village of Halton but also for villages in the adjacent Lune Valley and for the local towns of Morecambe, Carnforth and Lancaster.
