We offer genuinely very dog friendly (but not doggy!!) self catering accommodation in this quiet rural and coastal part of Norfolk. All of the properties are a short distance, some of them just a short walk, from some quiet, sandy and dog friendly beaches and the famous Norfolk Broads are also on the door step. From our shepherd's hut (sleeps 2) to our amazing Arts and Crafts house on the cliffs at Happisburgh, we can accommodate from 2 - 12 in a selection of over 20 houses. There are barn conversions, terraced cottages, family homes - both modern and old.
All of the properties have enclosed areas outside for your dog to be off lead safely, none of them charge for dogs (and never will) and most of them will provide bowls, throws, poo bags, spare leads, the loan of crates - all the things you need for a properly dog welcoming stay. If you have 3, 4 or more dogs - we can accommodate you. We are not breedist and don't operate a fixed numbers policy, preferring to take into account size, breed and temprement. If you have been frustrated in the past with properties claiming to be dog friendly but actually turning out to be only 'dog tolerant' then give us a try - you will be pleasantly surprised! The website has a special 'It's A Dog's Life' with dog details for the area - local vets, where to buy raw food etc. And all of the properties have a guestbook page where you can read what past guest have had to say about their stay. There is a very active Facebook page and Instagram account too - take a look to see how dog friendly we are!
The coastline is a continuous run of beaches, most of them dog friendly all year round. The countryside provides easy, stock free walking on miles of footpaths and quiet lanes. Many of the local pubs and cafes welcome dogs in and generally the area is one of the most dog friendly in the country!
As well as the Norfolk Broads with its opportunities for wildlife watching, sailing, canoeing, fishing and walking, this area is also well known for the seal breeding colonies - hundreds of them can be seen on some of the beaches in the winter months. There are gardens to explore (including the world famous East Ruston Vicarage Gardens), charming villages, and friendly pubs and cafes.
So whether you have a dog or not, there's a lot to enjoy about this part of Norfolk and hopefully we will have just the right property for you.
