Glewstone Court is a Georgian Manor House of historical significance listed on the English Heritage Register and retaining many original features including a spiral staircase rising from the entrance hall to a magnificent porticoed landing. It was built for Charles Ballinger, a wealthy landowner from Chalford in Gloucestershire and is now Country House Hotel & Restaurant, a family run business owned by Gary and Karen Homewood.
Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking the Wye Valley, the house has stunning views across Herefordshire towards Ross-on-Wye and the Brecon Beacons and its entrance is framed and shaded by a spectacular 300 year old Cedar of Lebanon. A real ’home from home’ offering a warm welcome, excellent food and wines combined with a unique ambience and relaxed, friendly service this iconic manor house is the ideal venue for weddings, special occasions, private dining or just eating out with family and friends.
The Hotel offers eight well-appointed country house bedrooms each one individually decorated with en-suite bathrooms and countryside views. The Suite can double up as a Honeymoon suite on the appropriate occasion featuring a seven-foot bed and a separate entrance and bathroom. During the winter guests can relax in one of our lounges in front of a roaring log fire and during the summer, enjoying drinks, cocktails and tapas with al fresco dining outside in the Mediterranean courtyard whilst taking in the spectacular views.
The Two Rosette Georgian restaurant has a reputation for serving consistently high quality food using only locally sourced ingredients. The seasonally changing menus comprise innovative and trending ideas created by Head Chef Vicky Lyons specialising in the Modern English and European Cuisine, with each dish handcrafted and beautifully presented. Special diets can be catered for and creative vegetarian dishes are always available.
