Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club is situated in the picturesque Lune Valley within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. We are a very popular venue for golf societies, away days and Captains trips. We pride ourselves on giving all our visitors a warm Cumbrian welcome. Our course measures approximately 6300 yards and is laid out in over 160 acres of spectacular countryside. Dramatic views of the surrounding fells give a sense of being at one with nature. Lush fairways, true greens and a gently undulating terrain present a new and different challenge on every hole. Our course provides an excellent test of golf and an enjoyable experience for players of all abilities.
Our golf course is our members’ pride and joy and having been established for 25 years it has now reached a level of conditioning that makes it a pure pleasure to play. The green-keeping team work hard to provide visitors with true putting surfaces and excellent fairways throughout the year.
Our 18 hole layout is set out in two anti-clockwise nine hole loops that make full use of the natural terrain. The front nine crosses Barbon Beck and works its way down to the River Lune, before returning to the clubhouse. The back nine heads off north up the valley, presenting you with spectacular views of the Howgill Fells, before heading to the high point of the course on the 15th green.
The final three holes then provide a strong finish as you turn back into the prevailing south westerly breeze, with our signature 17th hole being a par 3 to a green perched just over Barbon Beck.Visitors now also have the option to try our shorter Lune Course. At just over 5000 yards, playing on the same quality greens and fairways, it is the perfect choice for those who do not wish to have many long carries from the tee. The clubhouse lounge provides stunning views of the Howgill Fells to the north. We have a venue suitable for informal lunches and buffets or alternatively that seats up to 70 people for a full presentation dinner.
Bookings for visiting groups are taken seven days a week with eight electric buggies available. Group packages for 18 holes start from just £38 per person including bacon sandwiches and lunch. You may also wish to combine a visit with a stay at one of our partner hotels giving you a chance to explore the area. Kirkby Lonsdale is a small market town with a wide range of independent shops and restaurants for you to explore and enjoy. We offer fantastic value two and three night breaks including bed and breakfast and unlimited golf.
