The Secret @ Peak Serenity is an 18th Century barn converted in 2007, creating a modern, idyllic, secluded e hide-away for 2 people. The original beams , made from the wood across the field, ( which is said, to have been used to build Wellington's warships ) and the walls made from stone from the quarry across the lane is cosy and warm. We are close to the world-famous Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Many films have been made here and also at Haddon Hall, both 5 miles from here. Bakewell, with its Bakewell pudding, Country Fair and carnival is also close by. The Well-dressings, unique to Derbyshire , happen throughout the Summer, with village fetes taking place also. Lots of things to do and places to visit. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walkers, and photographers...so bring your boots and cameras.
