Cuckstool Cottage : Yorkshire Holiday Rentals

Cuckstool Cottage is a delightful 3 bedroom detached, random-stone cottage on the edge of the bustling village of Denby Dale. With a wonderful outlook, over the village cricket field and bowling green to the woodland beyond, this is the perfect holiday retreat, with lots to do for both adults and children alike.

Cuckstool Cottage offers you comfortable, homely accommodation that sleeps up to 5 (plus infant) All utilities, bed linen and towels are included in your rental. Well-behaved dogs welcome (£15 extra per stay)

There’s a well equipped dining kitchen, with oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle etc. The dining area is located at the front of the kitchen and has a refectory style table. There is a high chair/booster seat available too. The living room is spacious, bright & airy and has a large ornamental stone fireplace with an electric stove & beams. There are comfortable sofas, a TV with the usual freeview channels, catch up TV and we provide a selection of DVDs for your enjoyment, along with a range of books & some games. Free WIFI is available so just bring your laptop. The main double room is to the front of the cottage and has wonderful views over the cricket field and bowling green to the woods beyond. There’s a very comfortable double bed in here plus ample storage for your needs. The second bedroom, also to the front with the same far-reaching views is a twin room, and the third bedroom is a single. The family bathroom is on the first floor and has a full bath with shower over.

There is a small fully enclosed garden, from where you can while away an hour or two watching the local cricket or bowling match take place. The garden has patio furniture and a BBQ for your use. Private parking.

The famous Denby Dale Pies are a 220 year old village tradition; usually baked to celebrate national special occasions and events. These are not your normal run-of-the-mill pies – these are monster meat, and sometimes potato, pies that have been registered in the Guinness Book of Records in past years! There have been 10 Denby Dale pies so far.You can see the 1964 Pie Dish (to celebrate 3 royal births) now full of flowers outside the Pie Hall. The 1988 Pie Dish (baked to mark for the bi-centenary of the 1st Denby Dale Pie) is also still in use at Denby Dale First School as a nature garden The most recent pie, baked to celebrate the Millennium was over 12 tonnes in weight! You can buy normal size Denby Dale pies from the local shops and very nice they are too!!
